Play Synopsis

"On The Swing" is an embodiment of the puzzled state of mind all of us experience all the time and are ruled by. We all have played on the swing during our childhood, and will sure relate to the romance of highs we went through and same time, the threat of fall if we let go. Holding hard to the swing extrapolates our emotions to the inability of letting go. Juxtaposing the movement of swing with what we experience, no halt in present, moving up into future, and going back into past, we live a life that does not belong to the swing, but our own.

"On The Swing" unfolds before the audience a story demonstrating different ages of lives and them maturing with emotions of love, violence, crime and an accident of bliss. Underlying it all, are the conflicts the characters face owing to their own individualities, belief systems and stereotypical Indian societal ideologies.
Written and directed by Dhaaran Productions, sections of the play are inspired by stories of true lives interspersed with imaginary episodes to form a play which winds and rewinds making each snippet fresh and surprising yielding an astounding experience.
